1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how The Dreamers Co LLP ("The Dreamers Co", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit our online store, browse our products, place an order, or otherwise interact with us.

We make premium Indian kidswear and we take the trust of the parents and guardians who shop with us seriously. Handling your information carefully is part of how we earn that trust.

Registered details:

  • The Dreamers Co LLP
  • Sabnam House, A-15/16, Central Cross Road - B, MIDC, Andheri East, Mumbai – 400093, India
  • Email: hello@thedreamersco.com

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.

2. The Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data that you provide to us directly, as well as some information that is collected automatically when you use our website.

2.1 Information you give us

  • Identity and contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
  • Shipping address — the delivery address for your order, including the recipient's name and PIN code.
  • Billing address — the address linked to your chosen payment method.
  • Order information — the products you buy, sizes, quantities and any gift notes or special instructions.
  • Payment information — your card, UPI, net-banking or wallet details are entered and processed by our third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers or sensitive payment credentials on our own systems; we receive only limited confirmation details (such as whether a payment succeeded and a transaction reference).
  • Communications — messages you send us by email, contact forms, chat or social media, and any reviews or feedback you submit.
  • Account information — if you create an account, your login details and saved preferences.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you browse the store, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers and time-zone setting.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, products browsed, items added to cart, referring website and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — small data files placed on your device. See Section 6 (Cookies) for details.

3. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process and deliver your orders — confirming purchases, taking payment, arranging shipping, and sending order and delivery updates.
  • To provide customer support — answering your questions, handling returns, exchanges and refunds, and resolving issues.
  • To operate and improve our store — keeping the website secure and working correctly, understanding how it is used, and improving our products and service.
  • To communicate with you — sending transactional messages (such as order confirmations) and, where you have opted in, marketing emails about new collections, offers and news. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
  • To prevent fraud and ensure security — detecting, investigating and preventing fraudulent transactions, misuse and security incidents.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations — including tax, accounting, consumer-protection and record-keeping requirements under Indian law.

Why we are allowed to use your data

We process your personal data where it is necessary to perform our contract with you (for example, to fulfil your order), where we have your consent (for example, for marketing or non-essential cookies), where it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or where it is in our legitimate interest to run and protect our business in a way that does not override your rights. Where Indian law requires your consent, we will ask for it.

4. How We Share Your Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the parties below, and only as far as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

4.1 Service providers

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform provider, which hosts the store and supports order processing, checkout and store analytics.
  • Payment gateways and processors — for example, [insert payment partners, e.g. Razorpay / Shopify Payments / PayU / Cashfree], who securely process your payments.
  • Courier and logistics partners — for example, [insert courier partners], who receive your name, delivery address and contact number to deliver your order.
  • Communication, email and analytics providers — who help us send transactional and marketing messages and understand website usage.

These providers are permitted to use your data only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it.

4.2 Other disclosures

  • Legal and regulatory — where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government or regulatory authority, or to protect our legal rights.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

4.3 Transfers outside India

Some of our service providers (including Shopify) may store or process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take steps intended to ensure your data continues to be protected in line with this policy and applicable Indian law.

5. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, including:

  • to fulfil your orders and provide customer support;
  • to comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations (which may require us to retain order and transaction records for a number of years); and
  • to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When personal data is no longer required, we will delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer be linked to you.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the store work, remember your cart and preferences, keep you signed in, understand how the site is used, and (with your consent) measure and improve marketing.

Cookies we use generally fall into these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the store to function (for example, to maintain your shopping cart and secure checkout).
  • Performance and analytics — help us understand how visitors use the store so we can improve it.
  • Functional — remember your choices and preferences.
  • Advertising/marketing — used, where you consent, to deliver and measure relevant promotions.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and through any cookie-consent banner we provide on the store. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the store work.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include using a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection for our store, relying on reputable payment processors for payment handling, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal data breach that affects you, we will respond in line with applicable Indian law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our products are kidswear for children aged 2–6, but our store and services are intended for use by adults — parents and guardians. Purchases are made by, and accounts are held by, adults.

We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Any information about a child (such as a size or a name on a gift note) is provided to us by the adult placing the order. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without the involvement of a parent or guardian, please contact us at hello@thedreamersco.com and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Indian data-protection law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, once and as it comes into force), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and obtain a summary of how it is processed.
  • Correct or update personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
  • Request erasure of your personal data where it is no longer needed and there is no legal reason for us to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on your consent (for example, for marketing) — this will not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
  • Opt out of marketing by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity, where the law provides for this.
  • Raise a grievance about how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.
